My name is Danielle and I'm a lover of all things books. I'm a bit of a moody read, but tend to love anything romance related. When I don't have my nose in a book, I can be found working at my job in healthcare communications in Boston.

If you haven’t been able to tell yet, I love the Veronica Speedwell series with a passion! I feel like its a series that doesn’t get much hype, but it’s so good and I think everyone should read it! A Dangerous Collaboration is our fourth installment in the series and it is the one were all my dreams come true! Just kidding – but seriously this one finally, finally delivers on the slowburn romance hovering under the surface between Stoker and Veronica.
The Ex Talk
By Rachel Lynn Solomon Publisher: Berkley Release Date: January 26, 2021 Series or Standalone: Standalone Links: Amazon – Barnes & Noble – Goodreads Rating:
If you’re a fan of rom-coms, The Ex Talk is definitely for you. This book was so much fun and I had a blast while reading it. There were definitely a few parts that were a little over the top and required some suspension of disbelief, but I honestly didn’t mind at all as this book left me with a smile on my face at the end.
I cannot believe we’re already at the end of March – this month feels like it’s flown by! This was my first full month back to blogging and I have to say I am loving it! Not only did I relaunch my blog this month, but I also launched my bookstagram @overflowingshelf and I’ve been having so much fun.
My whole reason for my blog and Instagram was to connect with other readers as I missed talking about books with people as passionate about them as I am. Thank you to everyone who has followed and come along on this journey so far – it’s been a blast and I’m hoping to keep it up for as long as I can!
With that out of the way, let’s dive into the March recap!
A Treacherous Curse brings us Stoker and Veronica’s third adventure and it does not disappoint! This is another personal favorite in the series as I love the mystery and how it connects to Stoker’s backstory.
This might be my favorite book in the Sin for All Seasons series and I’m a bit shocked by that. I wasn’t really sure what to expect going in for Fancy’s story. Her upbringing is so different from that of the other Trewlove siblings. Born to Ettie Trewlove, the matriarch of the Trewlove clan who took in the nobility’s bastards and raised them as her own, Fancy was destined for greater things in live – a fancy house, a fancy man and fancy life. Being so much younger than her siblings and raised with these expectations, she was a bit a question mark to me, but I ended up loving her. I love her passion for books and you could tell she was truly happy when she was in her book shop.
The Heiress Hunt
By Joanna Shupe Publisher: Avon Release Date: March 9, 2021 Series or Standalone: The Fifth Avenue Rebels #1 Links: Amazon – Barnes & Noble – Goodreads Rating:
This is a tough review for me to write as I really love Joanna Shupe’s books, but I did not enjoy this one.
Pitched as the Bachelor in the Gilded Age Newport, I thought this would be right up my alley as there tends to be a lot of heart aches and feelings in books of this type. As I was reading, though, I’d say this book is only very loosely Bachelor related. The story follows Harrison Archer, the black sheep of his family, who has returned back to New York from Paris after he was disinherited 3 years ago. Having amassed a fortune while he was away, he returns home to destroy his family, who are now broke and need him to marry an heiress to restore the family finances. When he finds his childhood friend who he was in love with, Maddie Webster, is still unmarried he decides to play along with his family’s scheme. Harrison asks Maddie to host a party in Newport to bring together all the eligible heiresses, though he only intends to win over one – Maddie.
