February 2023 Reading Recap

The shortest month of the year has come and gone in the flash of an eye. Somehow it also turned into a really good reading month for me though, so I cannot complain!

This month, I ended up reading 7 books, which was more than I expected, so go me!

We also FINALLY got a resolution to the HarperCollins Strike this month, so I have a lot of fantastic HC books I’ve read over the last three months that I cannot wait to review and talk about here!

Here’s everything I read in February:

January 2023 Reading Recap

Goodbye and good riddance to January!

2023 got off to a bit of a rocky start for me. I had a lot of travel and then got COVID for the second time in 4 months, which took me down for a week at the WORST possible time. So thank god that January is in the rearview window.

I am happy I managed to finish 5 books given everything that was going on. I also was a major mood reader and was reading at least 6 books at the same time by the end of the month.

Here’s what I read this January:

December 2022 Reading Recap

Hello, 2023! I hope everyone had a wonderful holiday season and a happy new year!

I took some time off from the holidays from blogging to spend time with the family, but I’m back and ready for action! I did a TON of reading in December (14 books to be exact) to help me hit my reading goal of the year, finishing up book 100 on New Year’s Eve. Hopefully, you hit all your bookish goals!

I will do a reading recap for 2022 sometime soon, as well as recap some of my favorite reads of the year so keep an eye out for that!

And now, let’s take a look at my last reads of the year.

November 2022 Reading Recap

November feels like it was gone in a blink of an eye. Spending two weeks in Europe definitely helped this month fly by for me. It also meant I was too busy to be doing much reading! Who wants to read when you can the Scottish Highlands and visit Vienna’s Christmas markets? Not me, that’s for sure!

Thanks to my trip to Europe, I only ended up reading 3 books this month – and I’m okay with that! I’m a bit behind on my goal of reading 100 books in 2022, but hoping I can make up for that in December!

Anyways, here are the books I read this month:

August 2022 Reading Recap

Ahh, summer. We barely knew ya! I just got back from a beach vacation down in North Carolina, which accounts for my silence here the last week or so. While I wasn’t reviewing books, I was actively reading them as I love sitting and reading on the beach (as well as going into the ocean).

Thanks to time off of work and vacation, I managed to read 10 books this month – not too shabby if I do say so myself. I’ve surpassed 70 books for the whole year and am ahead of my reading goals for 2022, which always makes me feel happy!

August was also Read a Romance and Romance Awareness Month so my reading revolved around romances, which honestly is not a change of pace for me as I pretty much read romances every single day.

Anyways, here’s what I read this month:

July 2022 Reading Recap

Another month, come and gone! After a rough couple of reading month, I feel like I feel found my groove again with reading. July was my best reading month since January of this year as I ended up reading 12 books. That’s helped me get a bit of a lead on my reading goal of 100 books in 2022, which we love to see.

Additionally, I also feel like I have started to find the space to get back to my regular cadence of review. There is definitely some work to be done to get back to consistently reviewing 2-3 books per week, but I’ve got a schedule planned out for August that I’m hoping I can stick to as I am SO FAR behind in reviews. Seriously, there are books I read literally months ago on my to-be-reviewed list that I haven’t touched yet.

Anyways, let’s see what I read in July, shall we?

June 2022 Reading Recap

Oh wow did June fly by! I cannot believe we’re already past the halfway mark of the year now.

June was a tough reading month for me, and an even tougher month for reviewing. I only read 7 books and reviewed 3. Lots of travel and then some personal things popped up. I had a scare with the health of my cat that really threw me for a loop (she’s okay now but needs IV fluids every day so it’s been an adjustment).

For the first time ever, I read more audiobooks than physical books as I just did not have the time to sit down and read as much as I would have liked. Reading more audiobooks was a goal of mine this year and I can say, I’m fully smashing that.

As June is the mid-point of the year, I’d also thought I do a little check-in on some of my other reading goals. My biggest reading goal is to read 100 books this year. At the end of June, I’ve read 48 books this year, just shy of where I need to be on track to read 100. Luckily, I’ve already finished one book in July and have three more I’m currently reading (I’m all over the place right now) so I’m feeling optimistic still about hitting my goal for the year!

Now, on to what I read in June:

May 2022 Reading Recap

I have to be honest – May was a rough month for me. You probably noticed a lack of posts this month. It wasn’t for lack of trying, but my work was insane this month, the world felt like a dumpster fire and I was mentally and physically exhausted so I took a bit of a step back from reviewing to prioritize myself.

While I don’t regret that decision, it definitely sucks that I wasn’t able to be as active with reviews and reading this month.

All this to say, May was not a good reading month for me. I only read six books this month – and that was a struggle. I’ve fallen slightly behind on my reading goals for the year, but I have no doubt I’ll catch up over the summer.

Here’s what I read this month:
