April 2022 Reading Recap

Oh boy, I cannot believe we are already in May! April flew by and it was a very busy month for me. I didn’t read as much as I hoped and definitely didn’t review as much as I wanted as my work has been crazy and I had a wedding to go to nearly every other weekend. Busy, busy.

Despite all the craziness, I managed to read 8 books again this month. That seems to be my normal number of books to read recently as I read the same amount in March.

Here’s what I read:

March 2022 Reading Recap

I’m a few days late on this, but hey, better late than never, right? I’ve been spending the last few days down in North Carolina with my family as I was in town for a wedding and to go wedding dress shopping with my sister.

I haven’t had much of a chance to read recently, but luckily I had a fairly good reading month early in March, despite this month being hectic at work. All in all, I ended up reading 8 books this month.

Here’s what I read:

MY REVIEW

After not liking It Happened One Summer, I went into this book with slightly lower expectations. And I’ve got to be honest – my feelings on this are a bit mixed. I liked the beginning and the build-up in Fox and Hannah’s relationship (something sorely lacking in Piper and Brendan’s relationship), but the final act of this novel is where the story lost me and made me a bit iffy on my overall feelings on it.

MY REVIEW

When it comes to Tessa Bailey’s books, they’re incredibly hit or miss for me. And this one was a big ole miss.

I know this book is incredibly popular, but it did not work for me. I found the characters to be unlikeable, the romance underdeveloped, and the writing awkward. Some of the choices also made me angry as the central conflict is based on a failure to communicate.

February 2022 Reading Recap

Got to be honest, I feel really weird posting regular content right now given the state of the world. Russia’s invasion and attack on Ukraine is hitting me hard. You might have noticed a bit of a lull in content recently, and it’s because I just have not had the brain space to devote to reading or reviews.

The last week has been incredibly hard for me mentally so I’ve been giving myself the space to rest and refresh, even if that means putting things I enjoy on the backburner.

I’m not going away, but posts might be a little bit sporadic. I’m hoping to get at least one review up this week, but make no promises.

Anyways, let’s get to my February recap. I definitely slowed down on my reading in the last week of the month, but I still had a pretty successful month reading 8 books. Quite impressive considering I read two 800+ page books.

Here’s the books I read:

September 2021 TBR List

I’m still in denial that today is September 1. Let’s just pretend it is August 32nd.

September is going to be crazy for me because of work and I’m currently not really sure WHAT I want to read this month. I’m feeling like September is going to be quite a mood reading month, but do have a few things on my September TBR!

Here’s what’s on my September TBR:

August 2021 TBR List

Anyone else feel overwhelmed by all the books you want to read and not enough time to read them? That’s how I’ve been feeling yesterday. There are SO MANY books I want to read right now, but have no idea where to start and not enough time to read them all.

Making a TBR list can help, but as a mood reader it can also cause stress if I deviate too much. I try not to put too much press on myself to stick to the TBR to alleviate that.

Given that there are so many books I want to read at the moment, here’s what I’ve thrown on my TBR for the month of August:
