MY REVIEW

CW: murder; death; violence; infidelity

I was so giddy reading A Sinister Revenge – and I’m still giddy thinking about this book. I read this whole book with a smile as it was everything I wanted and more, especially after everything that happened in An Impossible Impostor. Deanna Raybourn seamlessly blends the humor, wit, and emotions you’ve come to know yet makes it feel new and exciting in the eighth installment of the Veronica Speedwell series

This book gives over major A Dangerous Collaboration vibes. That book just happens to be one of my favorites in the Veronica Speedwell series, so I knew early on that I would be a fan of A Sinister Revenge, and I was not wrong. I was seriously smitten with this book within the first chapter. What is not to love as we have some delicious tension between Veronica and Stoker, time with my favorite Templeton-Vane brother and DINOSAURS?

MY REVIEW

Veronica and Stoker are back for another adventure in the latest book in the Veronica Speedwell series! An Unexpected Peril was a delightful treat and really hit on all the features I love about this series from strong, unconventional female leads to an engaging murder mystery to impersonating royalty to a great romantic relationship. I truly loved every second of reading this and it might be one of my favorites in the series.

MY REVIEW

A Murderous Relation is Stoker and Veronica’s fifth adventure in the Veronica Speedwell series. While I love this series dearly, this is my least favorite in the series. Don’t get me wrong – I still really enjoy this book, but I also wanted more from it the first time I read it. On my second reread, I did grow to appreciate it a bit more, but I still think it’s the weakest book in the series thus far.

MY REVIEW:

If you haven’t been able to tell yet, I love the Veronica Speedwell series with a passion! I feel like its a series that doesn’t get much hype, but it’s so good and I think everyone should read it! A Dangerous Collaboration is our fourth installment in the series and it is the one were all my dreams come true! Just kidding – but seriously this one finally, finally delivers on the slowburn romance hovering under the surface between Stoker and Veronica.

A Treacherous Curse brings us Stoker and Veronica’s third adventure and it does not disappoint! This is another personal favorite in the series as I love the mystery and how it connects to Stoker’s backstory.

A Perilous Undertaking might be my favorite story in the Veronica Speedwell series! Sometimes the second book in a series suffers from the sophomore slump, but that does not happen with this one.

First off, I love, love, love the entire Veronica Speedwell series, so this is probably going to be a long review.

I randomly discovered this series in 2018 when trying to find something one night to read, and it was a suggestion on Overdrive from a recent book I had read. I added it to my TBR list based on the synopsis, but little did I know how good the story it contained would be.

Since my first read of this book in 2018, I’ve read the entire series 4 times through and will likely continue to reread it. On each reread, my appreciation for these stories and characters grows so much.
